MELBOURNE Victory and Hume City played out an FFA Cup round of 16 match which by all rights should have delivered more. Hume had in their ranks three players with A-league experience, who showed very little last night, and while Victory controlled the pace of the game they lacked up front and failed with their quality of passing.
The only goal of the game came in the 27 minute via a Berisha penalty, after Fahid Ben Khalfallah was brought down. Hume were far more positive in the second half and managed to create a few half chances. But all in all it was a dour game, Khalfallah, Troisi and Ingham were lively for Victory.
Melbourne Victory will now have to wait till next week when the last round of 16 matches are completed to see who they play in the Quarters.
