Melbourne Victory played it's inaugural Playstation 4 National Premier Leagues (NPL) against Dandenong City at Frank Holohan Soccer Complex. The result was a one all draw.
Melbourne Victory enterd the second-tier NPL 1 competition this season, which has been split into two 10-team geographical conferences; East and West.
Competing in NPL 1 East, Melbourne Victory will field one senior team, comprising of its current Foxtel National Youth League players, as well as an under-20 team.
The top team from each NPL 1 conference will meet in the NPL 1 Grand Final on September 20, with the runner-up of each NPL 1 conference to play off for the chance to face the 12th-placed NPL team for a spot in the top-tier NPL in 2016.

The move to enter the NPL forms a key component of Melbourne Victory's youth development strategy and ultimately the establishment of its own football academy.
By joining the NPL 1 competition, in addition to its place in the Foxtel National Youth League, the club is able to provide coaching, education and personal development to up to 46 talented young players all year round.
Melbourne Victory has named an 36-man squad for the season ahead, with Darren Davies to coach the senior team and John Aloisi at the helm of the under-20 team.
