St Albans cup run came to an end at the hands of A-league side Perth Glory. The 4-1 result underlined the gulf between the A-League and the NPLV 1. Credit to the Saints they gave a good account of themselves they had a very good chance to take the lead , and had a penalty claim turned down.
Perth took a 1-0 lead to the break, but returned from the interval with far more purpose , Hersi and Nichols creating plenty of headaches for the Saints defence. While The Saints got on the score sheet throught a Ryan McGuffie penalty and a couple of quality save by their keeper Stuart Webster the professionals lifted and did enough to have a comfortable win.
